The International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property, known as AIPPI (Association Internationale pour la Protection de la Propriété Intellectuelle), Latvian National group (AIPPI LNG) is a voluntary union (society) of Latvian individuals and legal entities, that unites not only patent and trademark attorneys, attorneys at law and lawyers practicing in the field of intellectual property law, but also manufacturers and service providers, which business is connected with the intellectual property.
AIPPI is the world’s leading non-governmental international organization dedicated to the development and improvement of laws for the protection of intellectual property. It is a politically neutral, non-profit organization, based in Switzerland with over 9000 Members representing more than 125 countries.
Latvian National Group of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI LNG) and Latvian Association of Professional Patent Attorneys (LPPA) organized a seminar and an open discussion on possible domain name dispute resolution models in the top level ".lv" zone.
The AIPPI World Intellectual Property Congress was held in London on September 15-18, 2019, and was also attended by representatives from the AIPPI Latvian National Group. This year's congress attracted a record attendance of almost two thousand. The total number of AIPPI members continues to grow.
The Board meeting of AIPPI Latvia National Group was held on 25 October 2019 where the Board decided to admit a new member, change the legal address, the contents of the new web page of AIPPI Latvian group and various legislative initiatives in the field of copyrights, domain name dispute resolution and customs measures in respect of IP infringement.
